Kerr Drive blossom

Kerr Drive blossom

There’s a street in the town where I grew up that is lined with blossom trees. So, when I recently visited my Mum, I couldn’t resist trying to photograph it in full bloom.

The problem was… the weather. It was dull, grey and windy – not ideal for capturing blossom images. While walking up and down the street, I wasn’t ‘feeling it’. No angles were grabbing my attention; everything felt flat.

Then I noticed that the wind was blowing the blossom from the trees. You’ll have to zoom in to see it, but it looked a bit like snow falling. Not a  great photo by any standards, but a lesson in being patient and staying with it – even if it’s cold and windy!

(Other, similar images can be found on my Flickr site – if you’re interested.)
