So I was wondering how I could improve on the simple, elegant beauty of this hydrangea.

I converted it to black and white. I quite liked that. Then I thought I’d try using a layer mask to bring through the green and pink of the florets in the centre of the flower. Immediately it seemed to emphasise the larger white elements of this complex plant.
I guess that’s one of the joys of digital photography – try it and see.
