Sitting in the shade

Sitting in the shade

We came across this statue of Copernicus on a very hot day. It seemed appropriate that he was sitting in the shade of the tree to do his thinking. My wife thought that was a good idea, so she joined him, while I went off to play photographer.

I really liked the way that the strong sunlight was being filtered by the leaves of the tree, and the way that image was mainly green. Monochrome doesn’t always have to be black and white! I haven’t processed this image much – just tidied it up a wee bit.

(Other, similar images can be found on my Flickr site – if you’re interested.)
