An alternative castle view
Salzburg Castle (Festung Hohensalzburg) dominates the views from many parts of the city. The Mirabell gardens offer a direct line of sight to the castle. Unsurprisingly, it’s a popular location for photographers.
I guess that every angle has been captured, but I was still keen to use my feet as well as my eyes to find non-traditional perspectives. The high hedges and the statutes at one of the entrances to the gardens provided a handy frame for part of the castle (and part of the cathedral). I think it works best in black and white – but you can find the colour version on my Flickr site if you’d like to compare and contrast.
(Other, similar images can be found on my Flickr site – if you’re interested.)
