Castle at sunset #2

Castle at sunset #2

This photo was taken about 15 minutes after yesterday’s. The light had changed quite a bit, but it was still lovely.

I liked the way that the ‘tram lines’ (for electric buses) are evident. It was a warm evening and there was a relaxed feeling in the city – as you can see from the faces of the (slightly blurry) couple at the bottom right.

There’s a wee theme to the next few entries. The photos were all taken on the same evening – our final evening in Salzburg.

There was a lovely sunset and the light was gorgeous. It’s that simple. This one was taken from the Kapitelplatz. To the left of this shot, people were sitting watching an open air cinema.

Long shadows

Long shadows

I loved the way that the low sun was creating very long shadows as people strolled along the Southbank on a Saturday evening. We were walking from Tower Bridge towards London Bridge – into the sunlight, leaving the shadows behind us. Somehow, that seems to be an appropriate metaphor given recent events.

Because of the low sun, I was using a neutral density filter. I haven’t done much in processing – just added a wee bit of fill light.
