Remnants of summer

Remnants of summer

… or, I’ve finally processed the last of my summer photos!

I’m amazed by the form of these flowers. I know them as Turk’s Cap lilies. (I hope that’s not a derogatory term.) I don’t think they need any further explanation or comment from me.

Learning slowly

Learning slowly

The main purpose of this blog is to improve my photography. I hope to learn from the comments of others and by reflecting on how I could take better shots.

On several occasions, I’ve lamented my failure to carry – or use – a tripod. Well, I used one for this shot.

I’ve taken several photos of this variety of lily, but I’ve often felt that they weren’t as sharp as I wanted, or lacked depth of field.

I may be slow on the uptake, but I am committed to learning… slowly.
