Seaweed everywhere. Well, not everywhere, but certainly takin over this disused quayside at Irvine harbour.

Frosty
Thanks to the Gulf Stream and the salty air, you don’t often see frosty conditions at Irvine harbour. And, I don’t recall seeing frosty seaweed before.
Admittedly, it was bitterly cold when I took this one.

When it’s raining…
… you often can’t see Arran from Irvine harbour. On this occasion, Holy Isle (just off Lamlash) was clearly visible, while the main island was shrouded by the rain.
The harbour posts presented a nice framing opportunity.

Framed
As soon as I saw this composition, I knew I had to make it work.
Sunlight on snowy Arran framed by an iconic Clyde puffer.

Snowy
A classic view of Arran’s snow-capped hills. The light was amazing when I took this shot (it didn’t last long!)

Anticipation…
… followed by disappointment.
I like this composition, but I can’t get the colours quite right. Arran is the way I want it to be, but the other colours are off. I’ll have another attempt at processing this shot… one day… maybe.

Approaching
On this particular visit, I headed down to the harbour earlier than usual – because I could see the the light was amazing.
As I approached the harbour, I took a quick shot with my phone. And, I like it.

I came across this rusty signpost frame at the start of a stretch of path. So, it seemed like a good trigger from another ‘scenes from a walk’ challenge’.
I like the juxtaposition of the man-made object and the natural surroundings.
